12 Tips for Weight Loss

12 Strategies To Achieve Your True Vision For Weight Loss

Before I go over these 12 strategies for weight loss I want to remind you that there are no strategies which will work unless you first have a powerful crystal clear True Vision for how you want to look. Did you know that most people who want to lose weight never really see themselves as successfully achieving their goal? They might start out like a ball of fire, but that fire soon fizzles as soon as the first few challenges pop up.

Is this your problem too? Maybe that’s why you’ve tried and failed in the past. At the core of every success story regardless of what that endeavor might be, is a True Vision. If you’ve already purchased my book True Vision 4 Success please review the chapters on how to develop your True Vision. If you’ve not yet purchased the book do so today at www.Truevision4success.com. Because strategies alone will never get the job done unless you first have a True Vision 4 Success playing in the theater of your mind.

Now let’s go forward with 12 great strategies for losing weight and feeling and looking your best with one new strategy per week!
  1. 15 minutes before your largest meal of the day eat one apple and drink one 12 ounce glass of water. The average stomach is able to hold 32 ounces. By eating the apple and drinking water you’ve a better opportunity of feeling satiated at the completion of your largest meal of the day. That means that you’ll feel full long before you’ve consumed too many calories. And you’ll be able to walk away from the dinner table without feeling unsatisfied.
  2. Measure and monitor your progress on a regular basis. What we focus on expands, what we ignore contracts. If we focus on weight loss (as opposed to ignoring it) we are more likely to expand our success. If we ignore it and have no idea if what we are doing is working then we are leaving it up to chance and our chance of success will contract. So make sure you know exactly how much you weigh and what foods cause your will to weaken as soon as you are around them.
  3. Exercise in the morning before you eat anything. Studies have shown that there are more fat calories burned on an empty stomach prior to eating in the morning. Give it a try!
  4. Keep the wrong foods out of the house! If you have to have certain things available for other people in the family make sure that you attach an affirmation card to those products written by you that says the following, "This is not for me. These foods are bad for me. I will not consume them as I know it will harm my True Vision for weight loss." Remember it's always better NOT to have those foods in the house. But if you must, then write yourself and affirmation reminder to remind you of your True Vision for weight loss and help keep you away from foods that will steal your Vision.
  5. Be accountable to another person. People tend to succeed at a higher rate when they're involved in that endeavor with another person. It's called the "Buddy System" and it works because your partner will encourage you and also make you accountable for what you eat and how you train. And you do the same thing for her!
  6. Make sure that you spend at least five minutes a day, ten is even better to visualize yourself looking the way you want to look. In addition to that make sure that you visualize scenes of other people reacting to your new look. Picture in the theater of your mind buying clothes in a size that you've not been able to wear in many years, if ever. I want you to visualize all of this in detail as if it has already happened, because it will! This strategy is all about Vision building.
  7. Swear off soda! I believe that this one drink is responsible for a great deal of obesity in our country. On average a can of soda has 40 grams of sugar, that's 150 empty calories that you're consuming. Keep in mind that's like dumping 10 packets of sugar into a glass of water! And diet soda is not much better and in many ways could be worse as you're consuming artificial sweeteners, which your body doesn't really know how to assimilate.
  8. Fast food is fast but is it good? Avoid eating the wrong foods at a fast food restaurants. While you may find the food tasty I assure you that most fast food restaurants load their burgers with salt, to cause you to drink more soda, and plenty of fat for that flavor that you love so much. Depending on where you eat. A fast food hamburger has almost 300 calories. And a large specialty burger can have about 600 calories. 1000 mg of sodium and around 10 grams of saturated fat. None of which will help you achieve your True Vision for weight loss!
  9. Adopt a habit for staying with God's Food. These are foods that occur in nature with none, or very little help from man. Load your diet with things that grow on trees, or from the ground. Things that swim in the water fly in the air or run on the earth. Most people don't become overweight by eating too many vegetables, fruits, nuts, fish, turkey or chicken. Keep your diet as natural as possible and stay away from foods created by man. For example, have you ever heard of a cupcake tree?
  10. Make sure that you are first undergo a physical exam by your doctor before you exercise. And if you've not exercised in a long time take it slow to start. One reason that people don't stick with an exercise plan is because they start out at a higher level than they should. And they do this because they're full of enthusiasm in the beginning. When you start out at such a torrid pace you either burn out because you get tired of the over zealous pace. Or, you become ill because you've taxed your immune system from the difficulty of the workouts. You become run down and you catch a cold that your body would otherwise have been able to fight off. This of course is the exact opposite of what occurs when you start out with a more reasonable pace to your training and make it an important part of your lifestyle.
  11. Switch training regimes every three weeks to help avoid burnout and repetitive stress injuries. For example those who set out to walk two miles every morning will find that after 21 days that they would rather do almost anything else other than walk those two miles. And instead of changing routines many just start to skip their morning walk because it becomes boring. Walking is great exercise depending on your own True Vision for fitness. But how about walking on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and lifting a set of dumbbells on Tuesday and Thursday? And then after three weeks do two(or more entirely different exercises. The list is endless, and I discuss at length in my book True Vision 4 Success all of the creative ways that you can train without having to stick to a boring training program! Variety is the spice of life and a good way to keep training your entire life. Finally, keep in mind that whenever you are moving you are exercising, so be creative!
  12. Eat until you are no longer hungry, not until you are "full". There is a very big difference between the two. People who eat until they are full and say things like "I couldn't eat another bite" not only have a greater chance of becoming overweight, but also drive up their blood sugar levels and place their entire digestive system under much unnecessary stress. If you sit down to a meal with a goal of getting up when you are no longer hungry, but certainly not "full" you will eventually accomplish your True Vision for weight loss. It's really those extra servings that seem to go directly to your butt, waist and thighs!
